HowTo Become Energy Self Efficient

     I am a single mother who is very concerned about my childrens future and mine.  Our Goverment is leading our nation down into a black hole.  And we the majority of people just want basic survival and to be comfortable. Food, Heat and a Roof over are head.  Looking for any suggestions on a plan for my children and how to get out of the black hole we the american people are getting sucked into. Please anyone any plans or ideas.
